Unsplash, the apparent stock image database of choice for Silicon Valley companies, is launching an iOS app for creators and hobbyists to browse through catalogs of high quality photos to use in a creative project or any other personal use. Today’s launch is Unsplash’s third foray into apps — it launched a macOS app last year solely designed for rotating wallpapers on a Mac computer, and a similar app for the Apple TV in 2016.

The new mobile app is optimized to be best used with an iPad — users can drag photos they like to the lower left corner to download the image, or use multi-screen mode to drop the picture into a project file they’re working on. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has taken to the company’s forums to offer fans some reassurance about the upcoming OnePlus 6 and its controversial notched display. In response to a loud and passionate negative reaction, Lau says that OnePlus will now offer the option to black out the sides of the screen around the notch and thereby hide it, much as Huawei has done with the P20. I’ve been using the latter phone since its announcement in Paris last week, and I’ve never felt the need to hide its notch, but it’s good to have the option for people suffering from notch allergies.

The OnePlus 6 will get the notch-hiding tweak in a software update after release, Lau says, which again indicates the imminent arrival of his company’s next flagship phone….

Reddit has redesigned its website and the changes begin rolling out today, marking the first time in a decade that the social media network has altered its interface. One percent of users will see the new design today, and over the course of the next few months, the design will come to all Reddit users and lurkers, as Wired reports. As of now, those who see the change can still switch back to the old Reddit.

The new Reddit design replaces the navigation bar with a menu on the left corner, which resembles a lot of trendy website templates available on Squarespace, Wix, or Tumblr. The menu opens up to display links to feeds, subreddits you follow, and user profiles. Users will be able to choose to view Reddit in three modes: “classic view”…

Splatoon’s colorful inkling characters started out as bland, white boxes. During early prototypes of the game, these rectangular characters — which the development team at Nintendo started calling blocks of tofu — would shoot black-and-white paint at each other in a simple arena. Eventually, as the game started to evolve, so did the character design.

High-end publisher The Folio Society’s latest science fiction offering is one of the classics of the genre: a new edition of 1924’s We, by Russian author Yevgeny Zamyatin. It features original art by Kit Russell, and an introduction by the late Ursula K. Le Guin.
