Smarter Banana Packaging: Staggered by Ripeness Level

Bananas used to be super rare in South Korea, which just doesn’t have the climate to grow them. It wasn’t until shipping links were set up with a Dole plantation in the appropriately hot Philippines that the fruit started to show up in Korean supermarkets.

Being previously exotic, the banana is not a thing to be wasted. That’s why South Korea’s SSG Market packages them like this:
