The Tail Table: A Tailgate for Vehicles Without Tailgates
Aimed at car campers and outdoorspeople, the Tail Table adds a convenient surface to the open rear of your hatchback, car or SUV. Just as the Moki Door Step relies on the existing door latch of your car, the Tail Table hooks onto the trunk/hatchback latch.
In its diminutive form, it’s a cutting-board sized surface that is, in fact, a food-safe cutting board that even has juice grooves.
Beneath the surface is a honeycomb structure that balances strength with light weight. A secondary surface folds out of the first, and additional “wings” unfold from the secondary surface, increasing the table area.
A telescoping leg can be popped out to bear more weight.
You’ll notice there are keyhole-shaped grooves around the perimeter.
Those are designed to hold the stems of wineglasses.
Once deployed, the Tail Table opens a plethora of lifestyle opportunities:
Thomas combines his dual passions of strawberries and freshly-caught catfish
Lauren enjoys a bottle of rosé with three imaginary friends
New diet plan: “We can eat as much junk food as we want whenever the Tesla is charging”
Susan regrets not placing the jar of apple butter within reach
Marco stares into a blank screen, but passing motorists believe he is working
Brittany doesn’t appear to be using the table at all, but she wanted to be in the photo shoot
Darren has a hearty laugh because he’s moved the car without telling the rest of the group
The Tail Table runs $200.
