Designey Stackable Storage Totes by Issey Miyake

None other than Issey Miyake designed these polpropylene stackable storage totes, for Japanese storage goods manufacturer Likeit.

The ribbed walls confer strength, and the handles are rated for 100kg (220 lbs.).

Due to the diamond-shaped protrusions on the feet, the boxes are stackable in both the X- and Y-axes.

The interior can be partitioned with up to four internal boxes.

Though they’re sturdy enough for activities like camping and gardening…

…they’re designed to be attractive indoors. In earthquake-prone Japan, most households typically have an easily-accessible storage tote filled with disaster supplies. These can “live” out in full sight without offending the senses.
