Design entrepreneurs: I know it’s a terrible time to scale up production, but this week Walmart announced they’re holding an Open Call, seeking “Small business owners and entrepreneurs with a dream of selling their U.S. made, grown or assembled products to millions of customers.”
They’re taking applications here through April 8th. If yours is accepted, you’ll be invited to a two-day event (virtual or in-person, your choice) on June 28-29th, to give a 30-minute pitch to Walmart and/or Sam’s Club. “Entrepreneurs can secure deals ranging from supplying products to a handful of local stores to supplying hundreds of Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs as well as Walmart.com.”
If you’re invited to the event but your pitch doesn’t take, you still have something to gain: “Walmart is offering mentoring sessions to all applicants registering for the event to provide tools to become successful selling on Walmart’s virtual and physical shelves.”
To see if you qualify to apply, check out the application details here.
