The Tushy Travel: A Portable Bidet

In the U.S., the pandemic was great for certain categories of products. Toilet paper shortages led to wild sales increases for retrofittable toilet seat bidet manufacturers; roughly a year ago, American Standard reported monthly sales increased by a factor of 3 to 5, depending on the model. Manufacturer Tushy, which started operations in 2015, reported sales had increased by a factor of 10. “This could be the tipping point that finally gets Americans to adopt the bidet,” Tushy CEO Jason Ojalvo told Rolling Stone.

Consensus seems to be that once people go bidet, they can’t go back. Perhaps that’s why Tushy now sells the Tushy Travel, a portable bidet, so you can clean your butt properly even when using ordinary toilets owned by savages.

The company says that in addition to getting a proper cleansing, “you’ll use less toilet paper reducing your carbon footprint.” They also say they’ve designed the object to be “discreet and collapsible,” although one of the colors offered is fuchsia.

As for how it works, it’s completely manual, no batteries or power required…just fantastic aim:

The Tushy Travel runs $29.
