This $30 Breathing Mobile Washer is essentially a plunger with a strainer-like insert to allow water to pass through it.
Designed to allow one to wash clothes in a five-gallon bucket where there’s no electricity, it’s a human-powered agitator.
As for why it’s got “Breathing” in its name, it’s “because of the sound it makes as its unique action effectively pushes and pulls soap and water through your clothes,” writes retailer Lehman’s.
I was surprised to read, in the reviews on Amazon, that several customers aren’t disaster preppers at all–but apartment dwellers who use this as their default laundry method because they don’t want to use the building’s shared facility.
I guess the shaft is designed to break down for camping or RV use, but I’d like to see a more robust version of this; the three-piece shaft looks pretty breakable to me.
