“I’ve been keen on all kinds of electronic gadgets since I was a little boy,” writes computer engineer Kevin, “and I am curious about their interior structures.” Inspired by Todd McLellan’s Things Come Apart photography series, which documents objects in their teardown forms, Kevin pulled his first iPhone apart and designed a miniature exhibition for the components, placing it in a frame with accompanying text descriptions. “I hung it up as wall décor in my living room.”
“After that, I couldn’t stop. I dismantled, designed, and framed almost all of my old gadgets, such as the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and Sony rx100m2, and so on. I posted my artworks on my social media, and some fans asked me to help them design and frame their gadgets. With their positive feedback and encouragement, I opened my Etsy store FEIPPO to help more people!” Here’s an example of what’s on offer:
