Flux: Scale Collective’s Incredible Kinetic Light Installation

The Scale Collective is a ten-member creative collective based in France. For the Constellations de Metz Festival, a celebration of digital art and music which will hold its fifth edition this summer, Scale created this wonderful kinetic lighting installation called Flux:

“Flux is made up of 48 dynamic light lines 1.5 m long, 40 cm apart, motorized and controlled in real time. The formal multiplication of these lines coupled with micro variations of phases, time delays, speeds and amplitudes allows us to sculpt an object 20m long, alive and evolving with a cyclical back and forth movement.
"Entirely interactive Flux is an installation to contemplate and experience. The public is in control of movements, light and sound with a simple and intuitive interface.”

The Constellations Festival has not yet released their opening date, but those in France can check for updates here.
