Easy-Access On-Bike Storage: Industrial Designer Justin Sirotin’s Route Werks Handlebar Bag

The pain points for on-bike storage are manifold, and typically require compromise: Location, storage capacity and on-the-go accessibility all necessitate trade-offs. In an effort to maximize the utility of a handlebar bag while minimizing the hassles, industrial designer Justin Sirotin spent two years developing the Route Werks Handlebar Bag:

I’m digging the “dashboard” functionality and how easy it looks to pop the bag on and off via the cam lock. On top of that installation looks simple and straightforward, and the storage space seems plenty enough for your average day jaunt.

The Handlebar Bag is currently killing it on Kickstarter, with $90,710 on a $40,000 goal at press time. There’s still 23 days left to pledge, and the $119 bag is expected to ship in January.
