The pandemic has a lot of people taking major hits to their budget. So for every new line of furniture aimed at those who still have a steady stream of disposable income, it’s worth remembering that there still exists a counterpoint. Architect/designer Ben Uyeda of HomeMade Modern is sticking to his guns of designing DIY furniture for the budget-conscious, and showing us how to build it.
A lot of us, your correspondent included, can look at pieces like those in the recently-launched Primary Objects Studio Group line and think “I’d like to own one of those”–but find that $4,000 to $8,000 is well out of our range for a single piece of storage furniture. Thus it’s worth investigating Uyeda’s alternatives. We’ll list a few here.
