In 1836, Arkansas became the 25th state in the United States. Today, more than 3 million residents live in the state’s diverse terrain, from the rugged Ozark mountains to the plains along the Mississippi River. Here are a few glimpses of the landscape of Arkansas and some of the wildlife and people calling it home.
