Finally, Something Positive Comes Out of Smartphones, Facebook and Twitter: Two Guys With Mismatched Hoods Meet and Swap Them

As a child, my earliest comprehension of mass manufacturing and interchangeability was seeing a white four-door car in our neighborhood with one brown door. This puzzled me and I sought explanation; my father explained that the car had probably been in an accident, and that you could go to a junkyard and find the same car model, take the door, and it would fit perfectly. Because they all came out of the same factory. This “factory” place sounded very interesting to me.

In the years since, when seeing mismatched cars on the road, I’d idly wonder if someone in another area was driving around with the exact inverse color scheme. Probability indicates that has to happen once in a while, and it does, and thanks to a Facebook group these two parties got to meet:
