Our friends at Fibonacci Stone have a brand-new offering geared toward unique, bespoke design. Their large format Dramaturgy slab range presents an initial release of four designs produced in limited edition, small-batch runs. Measuring 3050 x 1250 x 20 mm in size, the terrazzo slabs are the largest available anywhere, allowing customers the opportunity to create more than just walls and floors with the product.
The design concept for Dramaturgy was born out of reflecting on the theory and practice of dramatic composition, with Australia’s leading terrazzo brand applying a theatrical approach to the collection. Every stone in Dramaturgy is conceived to become an intrinsic part of the theatre of everyday life – be it a star-player, a second-lead or an integral part of the ensemble. Fibonacci invite their clients to direct the scene to suit the individual mood of their projects.
“All great designs are a beautiful combination of drama and tension, with the best designers knowing how to direct each small part to create an incredible whole,” says Fibonacci Creative Director Michael Karakolis.

Taking terrazzo beyond the typical tile format means the options are pretty much endless, enabling designers to create counters, benchtops, and even large items of furniture. The four new Dramaturgy designs are only available as slabs with supplies limited, intended as high-impact, statement piece counterpoints to the existing tile offering.
“Fibonacci Stone products are one of the most unique hard surface materials available to the market, and we wanted to elevate this uniqueness for designers and their clients who are actively seeking a notable difference for their projects. Keeping the production limited supports this,” explains Michael.
The four designs include Assemblage, an elegant study of perfect proportions with a measured palette of ginger, teal, pale blush, nude, black and grey suited to distinctive contemporary projects.
Act Three presents itself in three parts, with a deep grey base entangled with bold pieces of black, white and tan, resolved with smaller fragments of soft jade and specks of nude.

Ink Blot is an ode to the beauty of imperfection, featuring a constellation of predominantly black fragments set into a pale grey base. The slab appears monochromatic from afar, but on closer inspection reveals warm tones flecked throughout.
Randomly scattered discs of translucent white, grey, chocolate and pale nude comprise Moon Garden, resembling glowing orbs in a plateau inspired by both future discoveries and ancient pasts.
The new Dramaturgy slabs by Fibonacci Stone are available now, stocked and ready for immediate delivery. Giddy up!
