Cape Town - the second largest city in South Africa - is on the brink of ‘Day Zero’ of a water crisis. The current projection suggests all taps in the city will be turned off on April 12th. Once this occurs, residents will have to travel to ~ 200 municipal water points in the city where they can collect water (limited to 6.6 gallons per person a day). The water problem has been building for years due to a growing population and mismanagement of water resources. On top of this, an unprecedented three year drought has drained the city of it’s reserves.
