World leaders have gathered today at the United Nations General Assembly to discuss various topics including nuclear weapons and climate change. This session begins every year in September and brings together individuals from the UN’s 193 member states. UN Headquarters, seen here, was designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and has served as the official home for the organization since 1952.
