Designed by Sílvia Rocio + Mariana Póvoa + esse studio, the new headquarters for Pure Lisbon is located in a typical city building that faces a large courtyard. The feeling of home, one that is creative, flexible and versatile, was the starting point presented by the client as the genesis of this office.
Linking back to the client’s ethos, the concept references the idea of voyeurism. The interior is designed to respond to a myriad of client’s needs, employing a single “structuring element” that delivers multiple zones – the humble curtain.
The introduction of the curtains allows the definition of different environments within an area that measures just 60sqm. The small footprint delivers spaces such as the central work area, a meeting room, a lounge and a kitchenette.
The easy space manipulation offers a dynamic way of inhabiting the office, offering free visual connection to the outside. The presence of a mirror wall enhances the space, bringing natural light and the essence of the lush courtyard inside the interior.
The pre-existing elements were adapted and integrated in the design, in order to create a cohesive interior. The copper window frames gave rise to the colour selection of the curtains. Birch plywood, which defines and encloses the volume of the new bathroom and kitchenette, is further captured in the design of the furniture. Colours, materials and selected lighting and furniture, all seek to enforce the feeling “home”, further strengthening Pure’s company values.
