Crater Lake is located in Fort Klamath, Oregon, USA. The awe-inspiring, intense blue water sits in a crater that was formed 7,700 years ago by the collapse of a volcano, Mount Mazama. As no rivers flow into or out of the crater,the evaporation is compensated for by rain and snowfall. At 1,943 feet (592 meters), the lake is the deepest in the United States.
