As many of you know, our project was inspired by the Overview Effect — the feeling of awe, wonder, and perspective that astronauts experience when seeing the whole Earth from outer space. Accordingly, we are always looking for new and stunning views of the planet. This shot was captured just recently by the Elektro-L No.1 Russian weather satellite in a 121-megapixel image, making it the highest-resolution single photograph ever taken of Earth.
