Cooper Hewitt’s Good for All High School Design Competition

Nearly 30 million Americans nationwide are affected by the lack of access to affordable, fresh foods. Cooper Hewitt’s second annual National High School Design Competition: Good For All is now open and aims to address this issue. The open-ended competition allows your idea to take many forms: it might be a product, a campaign, a space, an experience, or even a system.

By the People: Designing a Better America

An exhibition of 60 collaborative designs from throughout the United States and across borders, By the People challenges the country’s persistent social and economic inequality. Curator of Socially Responsible Design, Cynthia E. Smith, conducted over two years of field research in search of design for more inclusive and sustainable communities.

Architectural Ethnography: Atelier Bow-Wow

Tokyo based architecture firm, Atelier Bow-Wow, investigates the living condition of people through various fieldwork and design practices. Through a series of drawings and new works based on data provided by Harvard Planning, Harvard Graduate School of Design’s spring show, Architectural Ethnography, will guide you to experience the firm’s ecological thought on life and architecture.

Imagine Moscow

Drawing on rarely seen material, Imagine Moscow presents an idealistic vision of the Soviet capital that was never realized. Large-scale architectural drawings are supported by artwork, propaganda and publications from the period. Taken together, these unbuilt projects suggest an alternative reality for the city, offering a unique insight into the culture of the time.
