Reader Submitted: Bios Incube Grows Cremated Remains Into Trees

The Bios Incube is addressing the problem of decreasing cemetery space, while also proving to be a contestable alternative to traditional burial methods. The intent of the Bios Incube is to offer people a sustainable alternative for remembering deceased persons or pets in a natural and contemporary way. Everyone has the right to affordable, sustainable death care. The Bios Incube has been designed for city dwellers with limited access to natural land, those seeking an alternative to traditional burials, and for people who want to meaningfully connect with their loved ones who have passed away. The Bios Incube is an app-enabled tree incubator that facilitates the growth process and provides advice for maintenance. The Bios Incube was created and developed in Barcelona by brothers Roger and Gerard Moliné. The Bios Urn and Bios Incube aim to change the way people see death, converting the “end of life” into a transformative process and promoting a return to life through nature.
