The Port of Tacoma in Washington, USA is the ninth busiest port in the United States by container volume. The facility is located next to the mouth of the Puyallup River where it empties into Commencement Bay. Because the river originates in the glaciers on Mount Rainier, large amounts of sediment are frequently carried in its waters and are also responsible for the cloudy patterns you see in this Overview.
