Twin blasts in Belgium capital struck an airport and a subway station, killing at dozens and injuring many more. The first explosion at Zaventem airport went off at approximately 8 a.m. local time, followed an hour later by a blast at Maelbeek metro station, which is close to the main buildings that house the European Union. Belgium has raised its terrorism threat to the highest level. All flights to Brussels have been cancelled, according to the BBC, and Eurostar has cancelled all service to and from the city. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but Prime Minister Charles Michel said that the attack at the airport was caused by a suicide bomber. The blasts took place less than a week after the capture of Salah Abdeslam, the man authorities believe planned the Paris attacks.
