The work of Tim Walker continually blows our minds. Consistently ethereal beyond comprehension, with a darkness and depth that leaves you looking longer and wanting more, he truly is one of the world’s most evocative storytellers.

Recently published in Vogue Italia, Check-Mate is one of our favourite editorials to date from Walker. All the elements – makeup, set design, scale, colour and wardrobe – come together in an avant-garde study of chess; a delicate game of strategy and theatre, cunning at times, playful at others.
