#HTE

It has been said that every local person from Brno in Czech Republic knows at least one person wearing a hat designed by Alešbáry. It is design stories like these (and the spaces that go along with them) that we love – rooted in a sense of community, craftsmanship and authenticity. In our eyes, the best ‘showrooms’ impart a lasting sense of the craft being peddled, and the Alešbáry Showroom does just that – in a truly simple yet beautiful way.

Designed by Renata Kucerova (a relative of Alešbáry), the space itself is minimalist, built for function to display the clothes and leather accessories on offer. Suspended neon rods serve a dual purpose – not just for lighting the space but also to hold and display the clothing. All hats produced by Alešbáry are custom-designed, a message cleverly communicated within the design via the large floating oak shelves stacked with aged timber head moulds. The contrast between the shapes, timber grains and colours is magical, enhanced by the all-white minimal setting. In the adjoining work-space, antique timber furniture, rugged parquetry flooring and piles of cuttings add layers of depth to the overall design.
