New Yorkers honor David Bowie with pun-derful ‘David Bowery’ street sign

Now New Yorkers can remember David Bowie every time they’re hailing a cab on the Lower East Side.

While many have paid tribute to the rock legend with original art, impromptu sing-a-longs and makeshift shrines of flowers, candles and album covers, some artists decided to mark Bowie’s territory on the corner of Bowery and Houston in New York City.

Artists Cristina Guadalupe Galvan and Gregg LeFevre, members of The L.I.S.A. (Little Italy Street Art) Project, climbed up the street sign during Saturday’s East Coast blizzard to make the genius pun. Read more…
