Classic Vans sneaker gets a fresh facelift

Vans are getting a makeover for 2016.

Earlier this month the sneaker company released the Slip-On Mule, an updated version of its iconic backless canvas shoe made popular in the ‘90s.

Retailing for $60 on Vans.com, the leather sneakers are currently available in white, black and deep red with the promise of more colors to come

“For Spring, the inspiration was to do a new twist on Slip-On SF that has a collapsable heel we first introduced in our women’s Surf collection,” Vans Women’s Classic Footwear Designer Angie Dita told Mashable. “I wanted to keep the key elements of Vans’ iconic Classic Slip-on but with a deconstructed heel. I ended up designing the Slip-On Mule for women that has a clean aesthetic which can match with either canvas or leather materials effortlessly.” Read more…
