Grocery store chain Stop & Shop announced today that it will begin testing driverless grocery vehicles in Boston starting this spring, combining the hype of autonomous delivery cars, cashier-less stores, and meal kits into one experimental pilot. The launch is part of a partnership with San Francisco-based startup Robomart, whose vehicles will cart around Stop & Shop items like produce, convenience items, and meal kits to customers’ doorsteps.

The electric vehicles will be temperature-controlled to keep produce fresh, and controlled remotely from a Robomart facility. Slack, the workplace chat app that plans to become a public company this year, is making a new marketing push that includes an updated logo. The multicolor hashtag logo of yore has been replaced by something that more closely resembling a pinwheel, while retaining the basic color palate. The lowercase “slack” wordmark also appears to have gotten a minor update.

The company needed to change the logo because the old one was extremely problematic, the company said in a blog post.

It was also extremely easy to get wrong. It was 11 different colors—and if placed on any color other than white, or at the wrong angle (instead of the precisely prescribed 18º rotation), or with the colors tweaked wrong, it looked terrible. It pained us.

I draw on a Wacom Bamboo tablet every day, and while digital art is quick and efficient, sometimes I miss the feeling of drawing on paper. I’ve tried out a lot of “smart writing pads” that digitize text written on paper, but the iSKN Slate was among the first I tried in 2016 that was geared toward artists. The follow-up Slate I briefly tested at CES this year is a big improvement.

The original Slate was unique in that it let the user fit magnetic rings on their own pens and pencils, which would work with the magnets in the tablet to convert strokes onto a companion app in real time. Wacom has announced its most affordable pen display ever, the $649 Cintiq 16. The new display shares the same stylus as higher-end products and is meant to be an entry-level introduction to pen displays for young creatives and hobbyists. It’s got a 15.6-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 display, and its stylus, the Wacom Pro Pen 2, has 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity and never needs to be charged.

The Cintiq 16 is an entirely new device, distinct from the similarly named Cintiq Pro 16. It’s geared toward artists who want to make the transition from drawing on screen-less pen tablets that plug into computers, to physically drawing on the displays themselves.
